Mp3 encoders were just becoming available that could create audio files in real time, and affordable disk space had finally reached a point where such a system became viable for me to set up. After a few unstable iterations, the final system was capable of recording 8-14 hours per day, putting these programs online for both downloading and streaming immediately. Digital Soy operated the archive for 3 years before KPFT decided to go a different direction with their own internally developed system. On the Digital Soy archive all shows were available indefinitely, and at its peak one could download any file from a collection of over 7000 MP3 files- around 80 gigabytes- around 8000 hours of programming. Their current setup uses elements of my original configuration.

One can describe a listed property in terms of square meters, hectares, acres, or square feet- and the numbers you provide are automatically converted to the other measures. Prices and taxes can be listed in terms of any currency on earth, even in terms of ounces of gold if you like, and live currency conversion data is pulled to also display your price in terms of dollars and euros.

Features include a page that pulls the content of a Google Group mailing list, which is maintained by the show's producer, into the web site to display details of the ten most recent programs. Selected MP3 audio files are available for streaming or download, and this collection is set up so that the program producer can simply upload new shows to a directory to put them online, or delete old shows to make them unavailable.
